Letter.

Dear Prudence:

Seriously, I am terribly sorry for what I’m going to say, but I have no option:

Do you remember last night, when you asked me for dinner for the coming Saturday? I said to you that I would love to go, so we decided to meet at nine o'clock in your house, which is very near to our favourite restaurant. Well, I have to apology, because I just remembered that I just can't go.

The reason is that my little cousin's birthday is on Saturday, and all my family decided to go to my aunt's house so we can celebrate it together; even my uncle from Madrid and my sister, who's in Barcelona, they're coming! So I hope you understand this is really important for me.

Again, I am very, very sorry, and I'd like to ask if you're free for next week...

Greetings,
Ana.

My Holidays

This year I’ve found my summer fantastic. I had a lot of fun with my friends and I did a lot of things, but the most important I did is travelling.

The first travel I did was to Banff, Canada; where the Rocky Mountains are. It was pretty spectacular, everything was enormous, and the little villages were such a beautiful place. The people there were always so nice, and we had a perfect weather, despite that some days it rained.

A month after that, we went again to America; this time to USA. First, we went to Las Vegas, simply crazy town. After that we continued the famous 66 Route to Arizona, to the Grand Canyon, which is just wonderful. Then we arrived to California, starting with San Diego, a non-typical city that I found very interesting and with a lot of movement. We continued till Los Angeles, and saw the Santa Monica’s beach and the Laguna Beach, and finally we went to San Francisco. I literally fell in love with that city, it made me remember New York, but with a different style.

So I have to say, finally, that my summer has been perfect!

Computers VS Books.

· Nowadays, schools can't be without an informatic room. Internet is being used by the students more than encyclopedias or information books about the subject. Information is on our hands faster and easier now. However, is it desirable?

· On the one hand, young people are losing the love to read, and sometimes they can't search just a word in a diccionary. Furthemore, they are adopting bad costums. For example, when one class has to do some homework and the teacher let them write it by "word"- if they're tired or don't like the subject or they're simply lazy, they can just do "copy&paste".

· Anyway, on the other hand, this alternative way of investigation and work is making young people more confortable at the studying time. And they have now the chance to take care of their education by themselves, so the freedom and autonomous feeling can make responsability funnier

_ _ _ In short, both ways of learning have their pros and cons, but the most important thing that we need to know is that we have to get the best of both of them.

Advantages and disadvantages of Internet.

Nowaday, Internet is the biggest space of comunication, globalization and information all over the world. Its already normal that everybody in cities and towns could get an easy acces to Internet in their houses, work, and and even in the public areas. That has to be for some logical reason, and its that Internet was created in order to make faster and the most pleasant possible the power of having whatever you want to know in your hand. Anyway... have we obtained what we inicially wanted?

First, we have transformed a 50% of Internet in rubbish webs of wrong information, SPAM and dangerous chats and social nets. For instance, these comunications mediums are now a really explosive threat for young people that, by chance, are the most typic type of users. In conclusion of all disadvantages, we can say that we always have to act carefully and don't believe all on Internet.

In spite of all of that, Internet is now the perfect source of answeres for normal citiziens. Furthemore, that is free information and comunication so the people that don't have access to other methodes can obtain what we firstly wanted: the power of having whatever you want. Morover, its, practically, the only way for knowing other culture's people diary and for showing to the world your creations, opinions, etc...

Finally, as I said before, I think you have to be careful with Internet and don't believe all of it, but enjoy it, because its a magnific way to keep in contact with the world!

Stand by me.

Year: 1986

Inspirated on the novel: The Body - Stephen King. Te tittle is for the song "Stand by Me" - Ben E. King.

Director: Rob Reiner

Staff: Richard Dreyfuss, Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, Jerry O'Connel...

This is the film that I liked the most this summer. The plot is about four friends that want to find the body of a dead boy, that was killed by a train and hasn't been found, to get the money of the recompense. And its all about the travell that they have to do, and all the problems, and the relationship between them. A friend recommended it to me and I'll do it again with other people!

Canada.

I went to Canada this first 13 day of July and it was super! We were me, my familly, and a friend family with a daughter that is my friend, Laura. We rent a car and hosted, first, in Montreal. We were just a couple of day there, and we visit the city; it was pretty, but not the best. After that we drove to Quebec, and that place was covered by green and forest and lakes and mountains, really relaxing and awesome. We hosted in lots of B&B (Bed&Breakfast, houses of people that normally lives there and let tourist sleep in rooms like a hotel, and they cook for you) and we discovered that the people there was nice and very kind (and the breakfast too :D). Then we drove again to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where there was a conference that my parent and Laura's parent had to go. We passed those days walking to the city, doing excursions by the lake in a boat... and the last nigh we went to the Paul McCartney's concert! It was the greatest thing :D. Curiosities? We went to excursions on the Saint Jean lake, and we saw wales in the ocean in a boat, and we went to a natural park with typical animals of there, and shopping for souvenirs. And the first day we saw the Cirque du Soleil free! We visited too another little villages like "Peggy's Cove", "Tadoussac", "Lunenburg" -voted how the prettiest in Canada-, "Cape Breton"... Finally I can say: I wanna come back!!

The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time...

This summer I was reading a book by Mark Haddon named "The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time" and I falled in love with it! Its awesome and very pretty the way that Mark Haddon makes us see the way that Christopher, the first character, who is autistic, look the life and moments and people, etc. The plot is about one night that Christopher is walking on the street and find the neighbour's dog Wellington dead. He starts to do detective work to find who killed it, and, by those way, he discorver a lot of secret things of his familly... I recommend it, of course. Its a book that you have to read before dead (:
